The Execrable Bede While eight of the ten tracks on "Mulatu Steps Ahead" are collaborations between Astatke and The Either/Orchestra, recorded in London--with horn arrangements by the E/O's Joel Yennior--each track also features performances from musicians recorded in Addis Ababa, intimately and inextricably embedding the "Ethio" in an excellent recording of what Astatke calls "Ethio-Jazz". Favorite track: Green Africa.
